Winning the Best Poster Award (Judges’ Choice Winner)

At the Women in Science Society poster competition at UCD today, Zahra’s poster won the best poster award from the judges. Her poster focused on micro-services orchestration in the pure edge computing to minimise the use of high-capacity servers while taking advantage of computational resources available at edge devices.

Winning the best idea award in machine learning for a social good challenge

The 2021 ML Labs Summer School challenged the students of ML Labs to create a concept using machine learning for social good. The winning group, consisting of six ML Labs students and Zahra was one of them. They proposed a micro-lending web application focusing on giving access to underserved populations across Sub-Saharan Africa to green energy financing.
